DUNDEE - Authorities say another victim of a Dec. 20 shooting attack in Polk County has died.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office said Saturday that the man, whose only known name is Bridjnath, was pronounced dead at 4 p.m. Friday at Lakeland Regional Medical Center.

Authorities say the 50-year-old man was in the Dundee home of Kalowti Dhani, 49, at 6 p.m. Dec. 20 when her ex-husband Khemraj Dhani arrived at the door.

According to sheriff's office reports, Khemraj Dhani, 51, broke out a window next to the door and began firing a gun into the house. He entered the home, where he fatally shot Kalowti Dhani and wounded Bridjnath before fatally shooting himself.

Bridjnath was Kalowti Dkani's first husband.

The Dhanis' 17-year-old daughter also was home at the time of the shootings but escaped out a bathroom window uninjured.

HILLSBOROUGH

Police: Autistic Girl Raped

TAMPA - A 35-year-old Tampa man has been accused of raping a 14-year-old autistic girl who cannot talk.

Clayton Don York was arrested Saturday afternoon at the District 2 office of Tampa police. Police say the victim's mother said she walked in on the two in her home about 2 a.m. Saturday and witnessed the rape.

Police said the girl does not verbally communicate. She was brought in and examined, and medical technicians determined she had been violated and collected semen.

York was charged with sexual battery on a physically helpless person. He was being held at Orient Road Jail Saturday night. Bail had not been set.

Sex Offender Jailed

TAMPA - A man hiding beneath a woman's motel room window early Saturday morning turned out to be a registered sex offender on probation until 2015, police said.

Edward R. Haycraft was being held later Saturday at Orient Road Jail. Bail had not been set.

He is charged with two misdemeanor offenses - loitering and prowling, and giving a false name to a law-enforcement officer - as well as violating his felony probation from Palm Beach County on burglary and rape charges.
Tampa police found Haycraft, 51, hiding behind a small tree beneath an open window at the Swan Motel, 6407 N. Nebraska Ave., about 4:08 a.m. Saturday, an affidavit said. Officers said in the document that a woman in the room was naked at the time.

Confronted, Haycraft "could not reasonably explain his reason for being in this location," the affidavit said. He also gave the officers a different name.

As a condition of his probation, Haycraft is under a curfew between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., according to the affidavit.

Since November, his address listed with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement has been an apartment at 6601 N. Nebraska Ave., about two blocks from the motel, records show.

Pedestrian Fatally Struck

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office was investigating a Friday accident that resulted in the death of a 56-year-old pedestrian.

Christy William Lizzoli Jr. of 1893 South Shore Drive, South Pasadena, died at Bayfront Medical Center about 7:45 p.m. Friday after being struck by a car, authorities said Saturday.

Lizzoli was crossing South Shore Drive at a crosswalk about 6:05 p.m. He was hit by a southbound 1999 Cadillac DeVille, the sheriff's office said.

No charges had been filed against the driver, Renata Rathmann, 85, who lives on South Shore Drive less than a quarter-mile from where the crash occurred.

Authorities said alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
