Authorities in Manatee County are searching for a mentally ill woman who left her group home in Ellenton earlier today.
Mary Floyd, a resident of the ARC group home, 3703 Cedar St., walked out of the facility at around 7 a.m. Floyd suffers form schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder and epilepsy. She has refused to take her medication for the last 24 hours, according to a statement from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
She has a history of leaving the facility unannounced, sometimes going to the hospital or her boyfriend's group home, also in Ellenton, the statement said.
Floyd is a white female, 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. She has graying brown hair and missing front teeth. She was last seen wearing black pants, a shirt and boots carrying a black and pink backpack. She may have an identity card with her in the name of Mary Towne, the statement said.
Anyone coming in contact with Floyd is asked to call the sheriff's office at (941) 747-3011.
