The regional bomb squad blew up a suspicious case left in the parking lot of the Watson Clinic building in Lakeland this morning.
The Tampa Bay Regional Bomb Squad detonated the case at about 11:10 a.m., according to Jack Gillen, a Lakeland Police Department spokesman.
Gillen said no one was injured and authorities don't believe the case was a bomb. He said investigators are still collecting and examining pieces of the case, about the size as a camera bag.
Gillen said the building, at 2901 W. Memorial Blvd., was used to store medical records. He said no medical services were offered there. He said the case was exploded in the parking place where it was found.
