November was a bad month for banks. The Tampa Bay area saw a slew of robberies in the second half of the month.
NOV. 14: Heritage Bank, 23300 State Road 54, Land O' Lakes. Pasco County sheriff's deputies say a man entered the bank armed with a .22-caliber rifle. The robber was arrested minutes later after the car he was driving broke down at S.R. 54 and Livingston Avenue and he ran into the woods.
NOV. 20: Florida Bank, 3065 34th St. N., St. Petersburg. A man dressed in a khaki work shirt and khaki hat showed a handgun and left the bank on foot after taking an undisclosed amount of cash.
NOV. 20: Mid-Florida Federal Credit Union, 2105 New Tampa Highway, Lakeland. A man passed a note to a teller demanding money. No weapon was seen.
NOV. 21: First State Bank, 2832 Fourth St. N., St. Petersburg. One man acted as a lookout while another demanded the teller put money in a bag. One of the men was wearing a white painter's or surgical mask.
NOV. 21: M&I Bank, 103 Bloomingdale Ave. W., Bloomingdale. A man wearing a stocking cap and clear safety glasses gave the teller a note, got an undisclosed amount of cash and left the bank in a red station wagon.
NOV. 26: Grow Financial, 315 S. Boulevard, Tampa. A man wearing a purple sweatshirt and a black wig gave a teller a note. No weapon was seen.
NOV. 28: Synovus Bank, 4003 W. Neptune St., Tampa. A man wearing a blue jacket and blue work pants pointed a handgun at the assistant manager and demanded that everybody get on the ground. He left the bank on foot.
