TAMPA - Police are searching for a man who robbed a Dollar General store Monday night.
Tampa police today released security video from the store at 2363 E. Fowler Ave. in hopes of identifying the robber.
Officers said the cashier had cashed out the front register at the end of her shift about 8:36 p.m. and was walking to the office when a man approached her from behind and said, "Don't go in there. Give me the register."
The clerk turned around and thought the man had something in his hand, possibly a knife, police said. He reached into the cash drawer and took money, then ran out of the emergency exit.
Police described the man as white with a fair complexion, in his late teens or early 20s, standing about 5 feet 10 inches or 6 feet tall and weighing about 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white tank top; basketball shorts with white, blue and black coloring, black sneakers and a black rag covering his head.
Police ask anyone with information about the robbery to call (813) 231-6130.
