TAMPA - The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a white pickup or sport-utility vehicle that was involved Monday in a fatal crash with a motorcyclist on the Howard Frankland Bridge.
The motorcyclist, Jason A. Kent, 28, of St. Petersburg, died about 4 p.m. on Interstate 275, near the Pinellas County line, troopers said. The wreck closed two of the bridge's four southbound lanes for about four hours.
According to the highway patrol, Kent moved from the inside-center lane to the outside-center lane on his 2005 Victory motorcycle. His front tire struck the left rear of a utility trailer being towed by the vehicle sought by troopers.
The vehicle, which witnesses described as a white Ford F-150 pickup or a Dodge SUV, did not stop.
After the motorcycle struck the trailer, Kent was flung onto the roadway, where a 2002 Winnebago ran over him, troopers said.
The Winnebago's driver, Luann Borrison, 54, of Iowa, was not charged.
Anyone with information about the wreck should call the highway patrol at (813) 631-4020.
