TAMPA - An electrical problem with a bedroom ceiling fan sparked a fire that destroyed a house in Sulphur Springs, investigators say.
No one was home at 8610 N. 17th St. when the fire broke out about 6:22 a.m. Wednesday, Tampa Fire Rescue Capt. Bill Wade said.
Firefighters got the blaze under control in about 25 minutes. The fire destroyed the house and caused at least $100,000 in damage, Wade said. No one was injured.
Five people, including children, lived in the small, single-story home. They are making arrangements to stay elsewhere, Wade said.
