TAMPA - Publix is almost ready to open at Britton Plaza in Tampa.
Lakeland-based Publix Super Markets will open its new 64,700-square-foot inside the shopping center at 8 a.m. Jan. 8. Publix picked up the store when it bought 49 existing stores from Albertsons over the summer, and it has spent a few months converting it to a Publix.
Located at 3838 Britton Plaza, which is along South Dale Mabry Highway, the store will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. It also will have a pharmacy and Publix Liquors store. It will employ about 150 people, the company said.
