Nearly 20,000 South Carolina and Iowa fans packed Ybor City as floats and bands made their way down Seventh Avenue for the annual Outback Bowl parade. The dismal economy didn't stop the out-of-towners from making the trek to Tampa to be true to their schools.
Iowa fan Dan Akers said he is ready to spend wads of cash in Tampa to show his support for the Hawkeyes.
"It's great - the weather, the atmosphere, just to visit and spend all my money here in Tampa."
Tampa police staffed 130 officers for the Outback Bowl parade. They made no arrests, but offered several warnings to public drinkers at the alcohol-free event.
