OCALA - An Ocala jury went home without reaching a verdict Thursday in the tax evasion trial of Wesley Snipes.
It was the second full day of deliberations for the jury consisting of five men and seven women. Deliberations resume this morning.
Snipes and two co-defendants are accused of fraud and conspiracy. The government says the three conspired to illegally ask for millions of dollars in refunds of taxes they had paid.
In addition, Snipes is charged with failing to file federal returns for several years.
Snipes' lawyers have said he was the victim of bad financial advice. The defense rested without calling a witness, saying the government had not met its burden of proof in the case.
