ST. PETERSBURG - In the Class 2A-District 9 finals, Dixie Hollins took five individual titles en route to a championship win over Northeast.
The Rebels took a 36.5-point lead going into the championship round. They went 3-for-3 in their head-to-head title matches against the Vikings, helping secure the team win.
Early upsets in the lighter classes got the Rebels off to a quick start. Jordan McKenzie, Mike Lloyd and Mike Luna won the first three championship matches of the night.
The 119-pound Luna pinned defending district champion David Best of Osceola after a surprise reverse.
Jake Lawhead won his third district championship in the 140-pound class, defeating Northeast's Ryan Moore in an 8-2 decision after a late takedown gave him the edge.
Tay Harrington won his second district championship for the Rebels in the 152-pound class. He won a 5-4 decision over Northeast's Ambrose Chisolm, after escaping a takedown in the final seconds.
Northeast took home four individual titles. Ryan Richards, Ricky Moore, Jacob Williams and Josh Delmontagne all won for the Vikings.
