A woman found her husband fatally shot inside their Clearwater home Sunday afternoon, police said.
Larry A. Fenton, 57, was found lying in the foyer of the house at 1051 Nokomis St., police said.
Clearwater public safety spokeswoman Elizabeth Daly-Watts said police have recovered a 1993 white Jeep Cherokee taken from the home. It was found nearby about midnight, but police are withholding the location, she said.
The victim's wife told police she was exercising in a detached garage behind the house when "she thought she heard a 'pop' but didn't pay much attention to it," authorities said in a statement.
The woman told police she discovered her husband's body when she entered the house several minutes later. There was no sign of forced entry.
Police also reported hearing popping sounds, possibly fireworks, after arriving at the house about 5 p.m.
Fenton's wife, Rebecca, 40, was featured last month on Tampa Bay's News 10 in a story about acupuncture facelifts.
Reporter Stephen Thompson contributed to this report.
