First Quarter: Giants 3, Patriots 0
GIANTS ANALYSIS: New York followed its ball-control game plan perfectly, keeping the ball for most of the quarter but settling for a field goal.
PATRIOTS ANALYSIS: A critical pass interference penalty against the Giants in their end zone set up New England on the 1-yard line.
GIANTS ANALYSIS: New York kept moving the ball on the ground and through the air, but turnovers and mistakes kept the Giants from adding points.
Second Quarter: Patriots 7, Giants 3
PATRIOTS ANALYSIS: After scoring on the first play of the quarter, they went three-and-out on their next two possessions and Tom Brady had a late fumble trying to pass on their final possession of the half.
GIANTS ANALYSIS: The defense kept frustrating the Patriots until a late drive, but the New York offense could not do its part.
PATRIOTS ANALYSIS: New England passed on a 49-yard field goal attempt for a fourth-down pass that fell incomplete in the end zone.
Fourth Quarter: Giants 17, Patriots 14
GIANTS ANALYSIS: The offense finally made some big plays to complement the continuing pressure on Tom Brady, and the Giants came back twice in the fourth quarter to pull off the upset.
PATRIOTS ANALYSIS: With the Giants defense gassed and Brady suddenly having time to pass, the Patriots drove for what appeared to be the game-winning score. But their final drive ended on a fourth-down incomplete pass with 1 second left.
