SARASOTA - The man wanted on charges he broke in to his girlfriend's home and fatally stabbed her Monday night had been arrested twice before on charges of breaking in to her home.
Police arrested Morris Crenshaw, 47, at about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday after he emerged from the woods in Sarasota and asked to use a man's cell phone. The cell phone's owner then called 911, according to SNN News 6.

Cynthia Claridy, 38, told authorities on Jan. 4 that she and Crenshaw had dated for a very long time, but had not been getting along recently. Claridy said Crenshaw broke in to her home that night and smashed several of her TVs and poured bleach on her son's new clothes, a report said. She said she started to "feel scared" around Crenshaw.
A month later, Crenshaw is wanted in connection with her slaying.
Two witnesses said Crenshaw, 47, climbed into the house in the 1600 block of 36th Street at about 10:30 p.m and stabbed Claridy in the upper chest, Sarasota police said.
He had been arrested in July 2006 in a similar break-in. Claridy said Crenshaw climbed through her bedroom window and started punching, slapping and choking her during an argument.
