TAMPA - A Wesley Chapel couple with a troubled son get marriage counseling and parenting help on the next "Supernanny," at 9 p.m. Wednesday on ABC.
Viewers will see famed nanny Jo Frost come to the rescue of Brenda and Bill Dostal and their children, Zachary, 5, and Erin, 3.
Brenda Dostal says she was at her wits' end and on the verge of a breakdown when Frost counseled the family during the taping of the episode in October.
Zachary's defiant misbehavior and clawing attacks left her with bloody arms and frazzled nerves. He was getting all the attention, overshadowing Erin.
Frost says Zachary's problems began with the parents. She cites a lack of communication, disagreements about discipline and Bill Dostal's temper as contributing factors.
Frost comes to tears herself trying to save this family. Bill, 45, and Brenda, 38, have been married for six years. He is a construction firm engineer and works long hours. She is a stay-at-home mom. They have lived in Wesley Chapel about 5 years.
Brenda Dostal says that although it can be embarrassing to air your dirty laundry on national television, she was so desperate for help that it was worth the risk. She says Frost's counseling helped the marriage and Zachary's behavior.
