Two young women died when their car collided with a motor home about 11 p.m. Tuesday in Lake Wales, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
Robin Knapp, 18, of 407 12th St., Lake Wales, was driving a white 1993 four-door Ford across State Road 60 when she failed to stop for a stop sign and headed toward Boy Scout Road about 11 p.m., sheriff's office spokeswoman Donna Wood said.
Investigators said she crashed into a motor home driven by Dave Martinez Jr., 44, of Fort Pierce. The collision caused the motor home to flip onto the driver's side before skidding to a stop.
Both Knapp and her passenger, Brittany L. Brown., 2406 Old Bartow Road, Lake Wales, died at the scene. Neither was wearing a seat belt, deputies said.
Brown turned 20 Saturday.
Martinez was not injured.
An investigation was under way.
