TAMPA - One of the three people Hillsborough County deputies arrested Tuesday on Tanner Road threatened to track a deputy down and beat him up, and the other two struck patrol car windows, deputies say.

Deputies arrested Loma Marie Stark, Anthony William Stark and Kaci Smith at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday.

It wasn't immediately clear whether Loma Stark and Anthony Stark are related, but they live at the same address, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.

The incident started about 6:50 p.m. Tuesday when Smith and the Starks arrived at the Suites Motel, 11507 U.S. 92 East, in Seffner, Carter said.

Smith thought 20-year-old Jamie Beals, who lives at the motel, was talking negatively about her. An argument between them turned physical, and Smith and Loma Stark battered Beals, causing cuts or marks on Beals' arms, knees and neck, Carter said.

Beals ran to her room at the motel. Anthony Stark forced his way in, pushed Beals' fiance and swung twice at him but missed, Carter said.

Smith and the Starks then fled to the Starks' home at 1060 Tanner Road. When deputies arrived, Loma Stark was verbally abusive and uncooperative, and Smith also wouldn't cooperate, Carter said.

"Smith was placed in the patrol car, where she began hitting her head on the patrol car window, which resulted in deputies having to hobble-tie her," Carter said.

People who are hobble-tied are handcuffed and placed in leg irons, with the handcuffs and leg irons connected, she said.

Anthony Stark, 38, screamed uncontrollably at deputies and threatened to attack one after his release from jail, Carter said.

Loma Stark, 33, was handcuffed and placed in a patrol vehicle, where she hit a window.

The Starks both were charged with burglary with battery, battery and resisting arrest without violence, records show. Anthony Stark also was charged with contempt of court.

Smith, 18, of Tampa, was charged with battery and burglary with battery, according to the sheriff's office Web site.

All three remained in Orient Road Jail today. No bail had been set.
