18-Year-Old Woman Dies, Man Hurt In Brandon Collision

BRANDON - An 18-year-old woman died from injuries suffered in an accident at Heather Lakes Boulevard and Lumsden Road on Wednesday night, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
Monica DeMarco of 1017 Lockmont Drive was driving a 1999 Toyota Corolla north on Heather Lakes Boulevard at 8:17 p.m.
DeMarco stopped at Lumsden and attempted to turn left, pulling into the path of a 1994 Ford Explorer. DeMarco died at the scene, deputies said.
The driver of the Ford, Eric Crossen, 36, of 2635 Edgewater Falls Drive, was heading east on Lumsden. Crossen is listed in serious condition at Tampa General Hospital, deputies said.
