A horse owner found his 2-year-old warmblood, Marvin, shot to death this morning on his property in Lithia, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.
Clarke Osborne, of 8011 Lithia Pinecrest Road, Lithia, found Marvin at 10 a.m. in the field at 9012 Lithia Pinecrest Road, where he has other horses and cows.
Osborne told deputies he last saw Marvin on Wednesday night when he fed the animals.
A veterinarian went and said the horse had been shot and died sometime during the night.
This is the second horse found shot to death in less than a month. On Jan. 17, a quarter horse was found shot to death at Little Creek Ranch in Riverview.
