SEFFNER - Seffner Christian junior Jenny Moorer said the Crusaders know how to focus for big games, limiting distractions and spending as much time together as a team.
"We spend every minute after school together before big games," Moorer said. "I don't want to say we don't have a lot of fun, because we do, but we stay together all day."
Moorer led the Crusaders with 18 points as Seffner Christian (14-10) thrashed Lakeland Victory Christian 62-27 in a Class 1A-Region 3 quarterfinal.
Moorer also had 11 rebounds and six assists.
"It's not really a team," coach Greg Fawbush said. "It's a family."
The Crusaders slipped ahead early, opening the game with a Moorer 3-pointer. After a basket by the Storm's Cassandra McGill, Arielle Jadlowski sank two straight 3-point shots followed by another three-point play with a layup and a converted free throw. Jadlowski, a sophomore, had 13 points. The Crusaders opened a 17-5 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
Sara Santmeyer also reached double figures in scoring with 14 points for the Crusaders, including 10 in the second half.
