SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - After a rare loss, top-ranked Connecticut showed why its still one of the best teams in the country.
Maya Moore had 28 points and 14 rebounds, and the Huskies routed Seton Hall 82-36 Saturday to bounce back from their first loss of the season.
Moore, coming off her seventh Big East Freshman of the Week award, moved into fifth place on the all-time freshman scoring list with 399 points, passing Nykesha Sales. The victory moved the Huskies into a first-place tie with Rutgers in the conference.
On Tuesday, the Scarlet Knights snapped the Huskies' 34-game regular-season winning streak, a loss that likely will drop Connecticut (21-1, 9-1 Big East) from the top spot in the polls this week.
"When you win 21 in a row it has a different impact," Huskies coach Geno Auriemma said. "You sit in the locker room, you don't know how to act. You don't know what to say. You're not sure what the right response is because it's something that hasn't happened for three months."
Auriemma has changed his attitude after losses from seven to 10 years ago, when he had more experienced teams.
"I don't think these guys are used to dealing with that kind of pressure, of what it means to go through a whole season as No. 1 in the country or undefeated," he said. "Killing them after a loss would have been counterproductive."
Tina Charles added 18 points and six rebounds, while Renee Montgomery hit three 3-pointers and finished with 17 points and five assists for UConn, which led by as many as 48 points.
UConn forced 26 turnovers, turning them into 36 points.

CALIFORNIA 53, OREGON 34: Guard Alexis Gray-Lawson scored 16 points, center Devanei Hampton had 11 points and 11 rebounds and No. 9 California beat Oregon.
It was the Golden Bears' first win in Eugene since 1992-93, the last time they swept the season series over the Ducks.
Oregon's 34 points tied its lowest point total in 30 years. The Ducks (10-14, 4-9 Pacific-10) lost to Washington 51-34 in the 1977-78 season.
California (21-3, 12-1), off to its best Pac-10 start ever, closed the first half on a 5-0 run to take a 23-19 lead.
OKLAHOMA 82, COLORADO 66: Courtney Paris can now claim as many double-doubles as any man who ever played college basketball.
The reigning AP player of the year notched her 87th career double-double by scoring a season-high 30 points and grabbing 14 rebounds to lead No. 10 Oklahoma to victory against Colorado.
While there is no established women's record, Tim Duncan set the men's mark with 87 double-doubles at Wake Forest before winning four NBA titles with the San Antonio Spurs.
Paris has reached double figures in points and rebounds in 87 of her 90 career games, and her streak of 82 consecutive double-doubles reached 800 days old on Saturday.
W. VIRGINIA 63, PROVIDENCE 60: Olayinka Sanni scored 20 points and LaQuita Owens added 18 as No. 12 West Virginia won its eighth consecutive game with a win over Providence.

West Virginia (19-3, 8-1 Big East) led 58-57 when Davis missed a 3-point shot. Meg Bulger grabbed the rebound and passed to Cole, who made a layup, was fouled and sank the free throw.
Providence's Kendria Holmes was fouled on a 3-point shot and made all three free throws to pull the Friars (11-11, 1-8) within 61-60.
KANSAS STATE 64, KANSAS 58: Marlies Gipson had 20 points and 14 rebounds, helping No. 18 Kansas State overcome a ragged first half for a win over rival Kansas (13-9, 2-7 Big 12).
Kimberly Dietz scored 12 of her 15 points on 3-pointers in the first half and Ashley Sweat added 12 points for Kansas State (16-6, 8-1), off to its best Big 12 start since going 14-1 in 2002-03. Gipson also had four assists and blocked three shots.
UTAH 66, AIR FORCE 49: Leilani Mitchell had 19 points and 10 assists and No. 20 Utah won its 15th straight game, beating Air Force (7-14, 1-8 Mountain West).

A'Quonesia Franklin added nine points and 10 assists for the Aggies.
