Two people died following a T-bone crash Saturday night in the Treasure Island area, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
Eileen Ortiz, 59, of Treasure Island, died at the scene.
Maurice Lawson, 23, of St. Petersburg, was taken by ambulance to Palms of Pasadena Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The 7:57 p.m. crash at the intersection of Paradise Boulevard and the Treasure Island Causeway occurred when a 2008 Lexus driven by Louis Ortiz turned left in front of 2007 Ford Focus, a sheriff's office release says.
The Focus, driven by Joshua Malone of St. Petersburg, "T-boned" the Lexus, the release states. Lawson was a passenger in the Focus.
Eileen Ortiz, Louis Ortiz's wife and a passenger in the Lexus, was pronounced dead by Treasure Island Fire Rescue.
The two other men in the Focus and Louis Ortiz were taken to Bayfront Medical Center. Their conditions were not immediately available.
An investigation is ongoing.
