TAMPA - ABC announced Monday that nine television series will be renewed for next season.
Included are "Brothers & Sisters," "Desperate Housewives," "Dirty Sexy Money," "Grey's Anatomy," "Lost," "Private Practice," "Pushing Daisies," "Samantha Who?" and "Ugly Betty."
This announcement comes after reports that the writers strike could be settled today. The Writers Guild of America is scheduled to vote on a settlement deal with producers, studios and networks.
The strike has crippled the pilot development season, during which the networks consider new scripts for the next season.
"The strength of our schedule this fall was unprecedented and speaks for itself," said Stephen McPherson, president of ABC Entertainment. "We're looking forward to building on that success."
