TAMPA - A manatee with difficulty breathing was rescued Tuesday from Wakulla Springs State Park and taken to Lowry Park Zoo for rehabilitation, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation.
The manatee was acting abnormally and was rescued by a team of experts. They used a net to capture the small manatee, which was 1.5 miles south of the state park's swimming area.
The manatee was moved by a boat and then placed on a truck.
Staff at Lowry Park Zoo will evaluate and treat the manatee.
