Detectives Investigate Son In Shady Hills Couple's Slaying

SHADY HILLS - Pasco County sheriff's detectives are investigating the son of the victims in a recent homicide just south of the Hernando County line.

Acting on a tip, Pinellas County deputies picked up Jackie Lee Braden and another man just before midnight Monday at the Holiday Inn Harborside Hotel in Indian Rocks.

Braden is the son of Sherrill Shelton Wright and stepson of David Ray Wright, whose bodies were found inside their home at 18101 Moorhaven Drive.

Braden, 36, and Christopher Jay Catalano of Tarpon Springs were found inside a room where 40 to 60 pounds of marijuana and $194,000 in cash were discovered, according to a report.

Catalano has not been named in connection to the homicides.

David Wright's 2005 silver Toyota Tundra was also found at the hotel and impounded, according to sheriff's officials.

The Wrights' bodies were discovered inside their home after relatives went to check on them Monday night.

The cause of death was homicidal violence, but specifics about how they were killed haven't been released. It's believed they died sometime between Thursday and the night they were found. Both were 54.

The Pasco sheriff's office is asking anyone who has information about Braden's whereabouts during the past week or anything about the homicides to contact Detective Lisa Schoneman at 1-800-854-2862, ext. 7473.
