SIDNEY, Ohio - A fire destroyed a house, killing three children and burying them when part of the house collapsed, a fire official said Wednesday.
Five others escaped when the fire broke out late Tuesday. Two girls, ages 14 and 12, jumped from a second-floor window. Two adults and a 9-year-old boy fled through a back door, Sidney Fire Chief Stan Crosley said.
The fire department did not release ages of the dead children, saying only that they were younger than 18. Their bodies were sent to the coroner's office in Dayton.
