TAMPA - The Bucs' new running backs coach apparently will come from within the organization after all.
In the wake of recently retired fullback Mike Alstott's decision to pass on the job, the Bucs have pegged special teams coordinator Richard Bisaccia as their new running backs coach, according to former Bucs running backs coach Art Valero.
Bisaccia could not be reached for comment Wednesday, but an announcement is expected soon that he has been selected to succeed Valero. Valero said he had conversations with several people at One Buc Place about his replacement.
Valero left the Bucs shortly after the season to join the St. Louis Rams.
Bisaccia has been the Bucs' special teams coach for the past six seasons. However, he has experience working with running backs as well, having coached them for 10 years as a college assistant at South Carolina, Clemson and Ole Miss.
In other Bucs news, former senior assistant Aaron Kromer has joined the Saints as their new running backs coach. Kromer worked with Bucs offensive linemen the last three years.
Also, former Bucs quarterbacks coach Paul Hackett continues to look for work, but word is he may sit out the 2008 season if a job offer to his liking doesn't materialize.
