Tampa Police ID Homeless Man

TAMPA - Police today released the identity of a homeless man slain this week as Donald Ronald Kay: 44.

An officer on patrol found Kay bleeding and unconscious in a doorway at 5016 E. 10th Ave. about 11:30 p.m. Monday, police said. Officers and Tampa Fire Rescue tried to resuscitate him but were unsuccessful.

On Tuesday, the medical examiner ruled Kay's death a homicide. Police have not released how he was wounded.
