A driver fired shots in the direction of a car carrying a mother and her two children in Bradenton, then drove away when his passenger yelled, "That's not him, dawg, that's a girl."
The Manatee County Sheriff's Office said no one was injured in the incident about 10:30 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 301 near 63rd Avenue in Bradenton.
The mother, 26, of Bradenton, was driving west on 53rd Avenue E when a blue Mercury Marquis started flashing its lights and tailgating her, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
The woman pulled over on U.S. 301, and the other driver got out and fired two shots. They did not hit her vehicle.
That's when the passenger got out of the gunman's car and yelled at the gunman, apparently indicating they had the wrong person.
The men got back in the Marquis and drove north on U.S. 301.
