KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Sylvia Fowles had 17 points and 14 rebounds and No. 7 LSU grabbed the Southeastern Conference lead with a 78-62 win over top-ranked Tennessee (22-2, 8-1) on Thursday night.
LSU (21-3, 9-0 SEC) remains the only SEC team without a conference loss.
Fowles led a balanced offensive attack for the Lady Tigers. Erica White had 16 points, Quianna Chaney had 14 points, RaShonta LeBlanc had 11 and Ashley Thomas and Allison Hightower added 10.
GEORGIA 85, FLORIDA 66: Tasha Humphrey scored the game's first five points and wound up with 32 to lead Georgia.
The 32 points moved Humphrey into fourth place on Georgia's career scoring list with 2,164, 32 more than Coco Miller, with whom she was tied when the night started. Humphrey grabbed 11 rebounds to give her 1,003 for her career, also fourth best in school history.
MARYLAND 78, BOSTON COLLEGE 51: Marah Strickland scored a career-high 20 points as No. 4 Maryland cruised to a win.
The victory was the fourth straight for the Terrapins (26-2, 10-1 Atlantic Coast Conference), while the Eagles (17-8, 5-5) suffered their third-straight loss.
Maryland, which had made just 24 percent of its 3-pointers over the previous five games, made 11 of 22 3-point attempts.
VANDERBILT 66, KENTUCKY 49: Christina Wirth scored 20 points to lead No. 25 Vanderbilt to a victory over Kentucky.
A 14-0 run to open the second half gave Vanderbilt (19-6 overall, 8-2 SEC), a lead it would not relinquish. Kentucky (12-12, 6-4) led 25-19 at halftime.
UTEP 80, HOUSTON 55: Izabela Piekarska scored 27 points for Texas-El Paso in the No. 24 Miners' win.
The Miners (20-2, 11-0 Conference USA) extended their winning streak to 16 and took a three-game lead in the conference.
The Miners had three players in double-digits. Senior guard Natasha Lacy put up 12 points and seven steals and sophomore guard Jareica Hughes added 13 points and eight assists.
OLD DOMINION 83, NORTHEASTERN 46: Megan Pym had 19 points and nine rebounds to lead No. 13 Old Dominion to its 15th consecutive victory.
The Lady Monarchs (21-3, 12-0 Colonial Athletic Association) led 43-21 at the half and never trailed, keeping Northeastern to 34.5 percent shooting for the game.
Men's Top 25
BUTLER 89, YOUNGSTOWN ST. 73: Mike Green scored 17 points, and No. 9 Butler won its seventh straight.
A.J. Graves scored 15 points and Matt Howard added 12 for Butler (12-2 Horizon League), which is a school-best 23-2 for the second consecutive season.
WASHINGTON ST. 70, OREGON ST. 57: Taylor Rochestie had a career-high 24 points, Derrick Low added 21 and No. 21 Washington State handed Oregon State its 14th straight loss.
Lathen Wallace had 13 points for the Beavers (6-18, 0-12 Pac-10), whose losing streak matched the 1995-96 team for the longest in team history. Marcel Jones added 10 points, all in the second half.
