In St. Petersburg, a woman backing out of a driveway was killed in a collision shortly after 1 a.m., police said. Police did not release her name because family members have not been notified.

Police said Ramon Bustamonte, 29, of 2550 39th Ave. North, St. Petersburg was driving a Toyota pickup east on 38th Avenue North when a woman in a 2002 Ford backed out of a residential driveway.

The truck hit the passenger side of the Ford, police said. The victim was declared dead at the scene.

No charges have been filed. Police are continuing their investigation.

In Lakeland, a 52-year-old man crossing U.S. 98 about 7:45 p.m. Saturday was hit and killed, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

David Tidwell, of 814 Kentucky Ave., Lakeland, was walking across U.S. 98 south of Daugherty Road when he was struck.

He was hit by a 2007 Toyota 4Runner driven by Carol Parsons, 222 Carpenters Way No. 2, Lakeland, who was driving north in the center lane.

Parsons, 45, was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center with minor injuries, the FHP reported.

No charges have been filed and the investigation is continuing, the FHP said.

In Manatee County, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a sport utility vehicle Saturday night while trying to cross U.S. 301 at 51st Avenue East, according to the FHP.

The unidentified pedestrian entered the path of a 2004 GMC driven by Lawrence Graveline, 49, of Bradenton, according to the FHP.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene from the 8:45 p.m. accident. The damage to the SUV was estimated at $3,500.
