DURHAM, N.C. - Crystal Langhorne had 25 points and 12 rebounds Sunday to help fourth-ranked Maryland beat No. 12 Duke 76-69, a victory that came hours after Coach Brenda Frese gave birth to twin boys.
Kristi Toliver added 23 points for the Terrapins (27-2, 11-1 ACC), who controlled the entire game to sweep the regular-season series for the first time in 15 years. Maryland also earned its first win at Cameron Indoor Stadium since 2000.
Abby Waner had 13 points to lead the Blue Devils (19-7, 8-3), who hung around after falling behind by 14 points in the first half yet never could sustain a second-half rally.
Back in Columbia, Md., Markus William Thomas was born Sunday at 10:21 a.m. and Tyler Joseph Thomas was delivered 20 minutes later. Frese wasn't due to deliver until next month, but it became apparent in recent weeks that she wouldn't carry the twins full term. She long ago stopped accompanying the team on road games, with assistant Daron Park leading the team in her absence.
TENNESSEE 81, VANDERBILT 68: Candace Parker scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and No. 1 Tennessee (23-2, 9-1 SEC) bounced back from an ugly home loss by beating No. 25 Vanderbilt (19-7, 8-3) on the road for its 15th straight victory in this in-state series.
Tennessee, which lost 78-62 to No. 7 LSU in Knoxville on Thursday night, got 15 points from Angie Bjorklund and 14 from Alex Fuller.
CONNECTICUT 90, PITTSBURGH 64: Renee Montgomery scored 17 points and No. 2 Connecticut (24-1, 11-1 Big East) used an 18-2 run to end the first half to beat No. 18 Pittsburgh, handing the host Panthers (18-7, 8-3) a third consecutive loss.
NORTH CAROLINA 97, FLORIDA STATE 77: Erlana Larkins had 18 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and six steals to lead No. 3 North Carolina (24-2, 11-0 ACC) past visiting Florida State (15-10, 5-5).
Rashanda McCants added 18 points and Cetera DeGraffenreid contributed 15 for the Tar Heels.
Tanae Davis-Cain led the Seminoles with 25 points.
LSU 78, MISSISSIPPI 48: Sylvia Fowles scored 19 of her 22 points in the first half to help No. 7 LSU (22-3, 11-0 SEC) beat visiting Mississippi (10-14, 4-7).
BAYLOR 79, OKLAHOMA 59: Angela Tisdale (23 points) and Rachel Allison (16) led No. 8 Baylor (22-3, 10-2 Big 12), the only Big 12 team without a loss at home, past Oklahoma (18-5, 8-3). Courtney Paris had 21 points and 15 rebounds for her 84th consecutive double-double for Oklahoma.
OLD DOMINION 73, TOWSON 61: Megan Pym had 15 points and 12 rebounds to help No. 13 Old Dominion (22-3, 13-0 Colonial Athletic) win its 16th consecutive game by beating host Towson (16-8, 8-5).
IOWA STATE 62, OKLAHOMA STATE 57: Alison Lacey scored 15 points and Heather Ezell added 12, including the go-ahead free throws with 41.1 seconds left, as visiting Iowa State (16-8, 5-6 Big 12) sustained a second-half rally by No. 15 Oklahoma State and beat the Cowgirls (20-4, 8-3).
KANSAS STATE 56, MISSOURI 39: Ashley Sweat and Kimberly Dietz each scored 15 points and No. 17 Kansas State (18-6, 10-1 Big 12) beat host Missouri (8-16, 1-10).
TEXAS A&M 70, TEXAS TECH 56: Takia Starks had a career-high 29 points and No. 20 Texas A&M (18-7, 6-5 Big 12) stopped visiting Texas Tech (18-7, 6-5 Big 12).
FLORIDA 75, ARKANSAS 73: A pair of free throws by junior guard Sha Brooks after an intentional foul with 1.2 seconds remaining capped a dramatic ending as host Florida (16-10, 5-6 SEC) edged Arkansas (17-8, 2-8).
Florida overcame a 10-point first-half deficit and an eight-point second-half hole as sophomore guard Jennifer Mossor tied her career high with 20 points.
