BRADENTON - A man shot twice by intruders at his home is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg.
The Manatee County Sheriff's Office said that at noon today, deputies responded to an attempted burglary in the 5100 block of 19th Street West. They discovered the resident — John E. Davis, 27 — wounded.
Davis told them that he discovered three black men trying to enter his home through a window. The men left in a silver, four-door car, possibly a Hyundai. Davis ran toward the street to try and get a tag number. One of the men jumped out of the car and shot him.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at (866) 634-TIPS.
