Top-Ranked Connecticut Starts Fast, Crushes Marquette

STORRS, Conn. - Maya Moore tied a season high with 31 points and moved into second place on the school's freshman scoring list, as top-ranked Connecticut ran away from Marquette 95-63 on Wednesday night.

Moore hit her first nine shots and had 25 first-half points for UConn (25-1, 12-1 Big East), which led 60-22 at intermission.

It was the third time in the past four games that Moore has outscored the other team in the first half.

She left the game with just over 11 minutes left and UConn ahead 83-45.

Angel Robinson led Marquette (14-12, 6-7) with 22 points.

OKLAHOMA 68, KANSAS STATE 65: Courtney Paris scored 19 of her 27 points in the second half and No. 11 Oklahoma (19-5, 9-3 Big 12) rallied from a dismal start to beat No. 15 Kansas State (18-7, 10-2). Paris also had 10 rebounds for her 85th straight double-double.

OKLAHOMA STATE 71, TEXAS 66: Andrea Riley scored 10 of her 21 points in the final 2 minutes and No. 16 Oklahoma State (21-4, 9-3) held off a late rally to beat Texas (16-10, 4-8) in a Big 12 game.

GEORGE WASHINGTON 82, SAINT LOUIS 58: Kim Beck scored 23 points to lead No. 17 George Washington past Saint Louis.

Sarah-Jo Lawrence added 19 points for George Washington (21-5, 9-2 Atlantic 10). Theresa Lisch had 18 points for Saint Louis (10-16, 5-6).

TEXAS A&M 60, IOWA STATE 46: Danielle Gant scored 22 points to lead No. 21 Texas A&M past Iowa State and give Coach Gary Blair his 500th career victory.

Texas A&M (19-7, 7-5 Big 12) took a commanding lead midway through the first half and led Iowa State (16-9, 5-7) by double digits through most of the game.

TAMPA, 66, ECKERD 64: .Sheena Walton led the University of Tampa with a team-high 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Spartans (19-5, 11-3) edged Eckerd (14-10, 4-9) in a Sunshine State Conference game

SAINT LEO 64, FLORIDA SOUTHERN 61: Saint Leo used a 13-0 run in the final 5:12 of the game to rally past Florida Southern (15-10, 7-7 SSC).

The Lions (12-12, 5-8) were led by junior Melissa Guerero's 20 points.
