Elderly Woman Drives Car Into Office

TARPON SPRINGS A 75-year-old woman mistook her accelerator for her brake this morning and plowed her 2008 Cadillac into a doctor's office, injuring a woman sitting in the lobby, Tarpon Springs police said.

Lola Clow was not charged after the accident at 1200 S. Pinellas Ave., said Tarpon Springs police spokesman Frank Ruggiero. She was trying to park at the time. Neither she nor a passenger was injured.

The case remains under investigation.

The woman sitting in the lobby was hit in the stomach by flying debris as the car broke through a wall, Ruggiero said. She was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital for observation after she complained of abdominal pain, Ruggiero said.
