Fugitive In Rape Case Arrested In Polk

A St. Lucie County man charged with raping and impregnating a 12-year-old girl, then forcing her to have a home abortion, was arrested Wednesday morning by U.S. Marshals in Polk County.


Papouche Edmond

Papouche Edmond, 21, was arrested by Tampa-based marshals after an investigation involving the marshals and the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office, according to a news release from the U.S. Marshals Office of Middle Florida.

Edmond faces multiple charges, including lewd battery on a child under 12, aggravated child abuse causing great bodily harm, impregnating a minor, aggravated battery and tampering with evidence. The child victim nearly died, according to the news release.
