WESLEY CHAPEL - The man looked nervous when he ordered a Wachovia teller to hand over cash Feb. 8, according to the head teller who was nearby at the time of the robbery.
Only a moment before handing over a note demanding the money, the suspect had asked to open an account and cash a check, an affidavit states.
It was about 3:30 p.m. when the seemingly normal transaction turned criminal.
As the teller started pulling bills from her drawer, the man repeatedly told her to put all the cash in a bag. Finally, he snatched the bag from her hands and ran out of the bank at 1911 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., the affidavit states.
As the robber ran off clenching the bag in his right hand, another bank employee watched as he jumped into a white Ford Expedition with tan running boards. The employee jotted down the tag number.
Pasco detectives said the vehicle's owner is Naleqwinn Quantravious Williams, of 407 Big Cedar Way, Apartment C.
On Feb. 13, he was pulled over by Temple Terrace police and taken into custody. He later was arrested by Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies on unrelated charges.
Pasco detectives interviewed Williams, 26, while he was in Hillsborough authorities' custody. After being read his legal rights by a detective, Williams admitted to robbing the bank, the affidavit states. He was arrested on that robbery charge early Thursday after Pasco detectives secured a warrant.
Bank employees identified Williams from a series of photos of the robbery.
Williams was being held Thursday at the Orient Road Jail in Tampa, with bail set at $500,000.
