Pinellas Detention Deputy Charged With DUI

LARGO -- A Pinellas County Sheriff's Office detention deputy was booked into Pinellas County Jail this morning on charges of drunken driving, authorities say.
Aaron Simpson, 28, was arrested by the Florida Highway Patrol after he was stopped for a speeding citation near 49th Street North and Roosevelt Boulevard in Clearwater at 12:30 a.m., the sheriff's office said.
Simpson was off duty and driving his personal vehicle. He works at Pinellas County Jail, the sheriff's office said.
He was released this morning.
