Grapefruit League Gets Under Way

The month-long Grapefruit League season gets underway this week, and with it comes long, lazy afternoon getaways to a ballpark near you.
With eight of the state's 18 spring training sites with an hour's drive of the Bay Area, the options are plentiful.
With the Rays shifting spring operations to Port Charlotte next spring, this will be your last opportunity to visit historic Florida Power Park, a spring training venue on St. Petersburg's waterfront since 1916. The Rays' spring home opener is Saturday against the Blue Jays.
