NEW PORT RICHEY - Pasco County sheriff's officials have released the identity of the second victim in the early morning shooting Sunday at Diamond's gentleman's club.
Kellie L. Zorka, 27, was shot in the head and flown to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, where she was in critical condition Monday. Zorka was a dancer at the business when it was known as Club Five Four, sheriff's officials said.
The Holiday woman first was taken to Community Hospital in New Port Richey, as was Anthony Monti of New Port Richey, who was shot in the left arm. He was treated, but not admitted, and could not be reached for comment Monday.
Investigators said the two argued with several people at the club, at State Road 54 and Grand Boulevard, and that led to the shooting as the bar was closing at 2 a.m.
Details were still sketchy Monday afternoon, and no arrests had been made.
Steve Stratos, district manager of the entertainment group that took over Diamond's about six weeks ago, said Zorka was a patron at the club that night, that he does not know her or her friends and that he was not aware of her having worked at the club.
"It's definitely a tragedy when someone young gets hurt like that," he said.
Stratos said he was instructed by the sheriff's office not to discuss what happened so he would not hinder the investigation. But, he said, it could happen anywhere.
"Any business has its challenges," Stratos said. "I was a retail manager for a long time, and unfortunately these types of things even happen in retail."
