TAMPA - TAMPA - A federal court has released a video of a traffic stop that led to the arrest two University of South Florida students on charges of illegally transporting explosives.
The video shows a deputy questioning Ahmed Mohamed and Youssef Megahed on the side of a road near Goose Creek, S.C., on Aug. 4. The video also captures deputies referring to the pair as Taliban and making remarks about whether they went to suicide bombing school.
A federal magistrate has issued a report recommending that a judge find that the actions of the deputies were legal and that evidence gained from a search of the vehicle should be admissible when the pair goes on trial in April.
Defense attorneys say they will object to the magistrate's recommendations.
