A New Year's Day crash in Pasco County killed two young men and sent a family of three to a hospital when three vehicles, including a motorcycle, collided on State Road 52 at Shady Hills Road.
Jason D. Parmenter, 24, of Monteverde, and his passenger, Aaron J. Carrol, 23, of Clermont, died at the scene, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Parmenter was driving his 2003 Kia east on State Road 52 in a no-passing zone when he crossed the centerline and clipped the front of a westbound Toyota FJ Cruiser, a report states.
Kenneth Emerson, 53, of Aripeka, was westbound on 52 on a 2001 Harley-Davidson near the Toyota. He was thrown off his motorcycle in the crash, landing in the westbound lane, according to FHP.
He was flown by medical helicopter to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg.
The occupants of the Toyota, Crystali, 42, Charles, 44, and Camille Achinelli, 14, all of Land O' Lakes, were taken to Bayfront Medical Center and St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa.
An effort to determine their condition was unsuccessful.
