Four of the Tampa Tribune's Top 5 boys soccer teams will compete in the two main pools of the 14th annual Soccer Field Invitational Tournament (formerly the Admiral Tournament) beginning Wednesday at Ed Radice Sports Complex.
No. 1 Tampa Prep and No. 2 Jesuit will play in the Elite Bracket, while No. 4 Freedom and No. 5 Alonso will play in the Premier Bracket.
The Terrapins open pool play at 2 p.m. Wednesday against Tampa Catholic and play games at 2 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. Jesuit opens at 8 p.m. against Mariner and plays at 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.
Should both Tampa Prep and Jesuit advance to bracket play on Saturday, matches begin at 1 p.m., with the championship match set for 7 p.m. Each would need to finish in the top two of their respective pools to advance.
Freedom and Alonso have potential to meet on Saturday, as well. Alonso opens with Seminole at 2 p.m. Wednesday, and plays at 2 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. Freedom, meanwhile, opens at 4 p.m. against Manatee and plays at 4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.
Premier bracket play begins at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the championship match set for 5 p.m.
Three other Hillsborough County area teams in the tournament, as well. Sickles will play in the Elite Bracket in Pool 2 and opens with Lake Mary at 4 p.m. today. Berkeley Prep will play in the Premier Bracket in Pool 4, opening with Sarasota at 8 p.m. today.
And Gaither, which made a brief appearance in the Tribune's Top 5 last month, will play in the Premier Bracket. The Cowboys open with Clearwater Central Catholic at 6 p.m. today.
