LAKE WALES - Juanita Luciano, who was six months pregnant when she was set on fire while at work, died today, police said.
Luciano, 23, had been in critical condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Luciano and her sister-in-law were severely burned Dec. 13 after a man doused them with flammable liquid and set them on fire during a robbery attempt at Headley Nationwide Insurance office. The women worked in customer service.
Luciano's baby was delivered by Caesarean section but died a few days later.
Leon Davis Jr., 30, is accused of killing the baby, Luciano and her sister-in-law, Yvonne Bustamante, 26.
Lake Wales police say Davis walked into the insurance office on Central Avenue and pulled a gun on the women. He demanded money and then used gasoline or another accelerant to set fire to the office and the two women.
Davis also is charged with killing two gas station workers six days before the robbery attempt.
