Magic Collapse Late, Lose 15-Point Lead To Nets

ORLANDO - Jason Kidd almost had a triple-double and made a key defensive stop as the New Jersey Nets overcame a 15-point deficit to defeat the Orlando Magic 96-95.

Vince Carter had 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists, and Kidd had 10 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.
Hedo Turkoglu had 23 points for Orlando on 7-for-17 shooting, Carlos Arroyo had 16 points and seven assists, Rashard Lewis scored 14 and Dwight Howard had 13 points and 13 rebounds.

The Nets trailed most of the game, but finally came back in the fourth quarter. A big key to the Nets rally was veteran guard Darrell Armstrong, still a fan favorite here after playing with Orlando from 1995 to 2003. He had nine of his 13 points in the fourth quarter, including a 3 and a long jumper that put the Nets ahead 94-93 with 50 seconds left.

CELTICS 97, ROCKETS 93: Kevin Garnett scored 11 of his 26 points in the last seven minutes, adding nine rebounds to help Boston earn its seventh consecutive victory.

Paul Pierce scored 19 points and assisted on four key baskets down the stretch as the Celtics improved to 27-3 to match the best 30-game start in the shot-clock era.

BUCKS 103, HEAT 98: Mo Williams reminded Miami why they wanted him during the offseason, scoring 25 points with nine assists for Milwaukee.
Charlie Villanueva scored 15 points and Andrew Bogut finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Bucks.

CAVALIERS 98, HAWKS 94: LeBron James scored 32 of his 36 points in the second half and Larry Hughes made a crucial jumper down the stretch to lead the Cavaliers.

James took only five shots and scored four points in the first half. But after dropping in 13 points in the third, James scored 19 in the fourth, including 19 of Cleveland's 22 over the last 6:51.

PISTONS 106, WIZARDS 93: With Richard Hamilton leading the way, the Pistons are not only winning night in and night out, they're winning easily. Hamilton's 20 points made him the 10th-leading scorer in franchise history.

GRIZZLIES 90, PACERS 72: Pau Gasol scored 30 points as Memphis snapped a five-game losing streak. Gasol also had 12 rebounds and shot 11-for-19 from the field. Rudy Gay scored 24 points, Mike Miller had 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Grizzlies.

BULLS 109, BOBCATS 97: Ben Gordon scored 22 points, Luol Deng added 21 points and 13 rebounds and Chicago continued their strong play under interim coach Jim Boylan.

Rookie Joakim Noah capitalized on Charlotte's soft interior by adding a career-high 17 points.

KINGS 107, KNICKS 97: John Salmons scored a career-high 32 points as Sacramento shook off more bad injury news, snapping a four-game losing streak. Ron Artest had elbow surgery earlier in the day, leaving the Kings without perhaps their three best players.

TRAIL BLAZERS 90, TIMBERWOLVES 79: After their 13-game winning streak was snapped at Utah, Brandon Roy scored 24 points to help the young Blazers rebound. Al Jefferson had 29 points and 16 rebounds for the Timberwolves.

MAVERICKS 121, WARRIORS 99: Dirk Nowitzki had 29 points, eight rebounds and six assists and Josh Howard added 19 points and 13 rebounds, leading the Mavericks past their nemesis in Golden State's first trip to Dallas since last season's historic playoff upset.
