TAMPA - Police are searching for an armed robber who struck a convenience store twice in the past several days.
The Hispanic man, who has multiple tattoos on his right arm, robbed the Right Fuel and Food at 4019 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. on Monday and Wednesday, police say.
When the man robbed the store about 7:30 p.m. Monday, he pointed a knife at the clerk, demanding money from a cash register, a Tampa police release states. The clerk refused, so the robber went around the counter and forced the clerk to open the register. He was wearing jeans, a red Buccaneers T-shirt and black-and-white sneakers.
When he robbed the store at 10:19 p.m. Wednesday, he waited until its two customers left, according to the release. He entered then and told the clerk to keep his mouth shut. He put his right hand near the right side of his waist, indicating he had a weapon.
He was wearing a yellow Florida State University sweatshirt, a yellow New York Yankees knit cap, baggy jeans and light blue sneakers.
The man is 20 to 25 years old, about 6 feet tall and weighs 180 to 190 pounds, police say. He fled in a dark vehicle.
