It seems there is a new trend in the ever-changing face of beauty.
Industry experts say that a decade ago, the goal was simply a wrinkle-free face. But Botox Cosmetic trainer Jennifer Palmiero says what customers are looking for today is a very refreshed, airbrushed look.
So, before you give this cosmetic wonder drug a shot, you need to do your homework.
Make sure the person who gives you the shots is someone who does it every day, day in and day out, "because practice makes perfect," says Palmiero, who sees dozens of patients daily at Tampa's Skin Savvy. "You can't help but get good at something you do 25 to 30 times a day."
And here's something a lot of people may not know: All Botox has to be diluted, but many times providers will "hyper"-dilute it. So, instead of asking how much the doctor charges per area, ask how much he or she charges per unit.
If you experience bumps and bruising after the procedure, Palmiero says, that's a clue your provider has over-diluted.
Your goal is 120 wrinkle-free days, the maximum possible. You won't see those results if the drug is watered down.
Millions of Americans use Botox Cosmetic because it is a simple, nonsurgical, physician-administered treatment to smooth out facial wrinkles. As with any drug, however, it can have side effects, so make sure you ask questions, get referrals and go to a qualified provider.
