TAMPA - The University of Tampa men's basketball team won its fifth straight game with a 60-47 victory against Nova Southeastern University in a Sunshine State Conference matchup Saturday.
The game stayed close for most of the first half until UT (9-2, 2-0) opened a 10-point lead with 1:06 left in the first half. A 14-point halftime lead was stretched to 19 with just more than 17 minutes left in the game. UT maintained the advantage, using its reserves for the final five minutes. Nova fell to 6-6, 1-1.
Chris King led Tampa with 12 points.
ROLLINS 95, SAINT LEO 88: Saint Leo (6-5, 0-1 SSC) held Jonny Reibel to two points in regulation, but the guard scored nine of the Tars' 28 points in overtime to key the win for Rollins (11-1, 0-1).
Tied at 67, Saint Leo guard Dusty Driggs (23 points) missed a 3-pointer late in regulation, and a putback attempt by Jordan Prais (22 points, 13 rebounds) was short.
Kevin Hogan led Rollins with 28 points.
