TAMPA - A 15-year-old boy tossed lit fireworks into a man's home Sunday night and stole the man's credit cards, police say.
Police arrested Jeffrey Torres at 9:24 p.m. Sunday, charging him with felony burglary and misdemeanor criminal mischief. He is an eighth-grader at Stewart Middle Magnet School.
Arnaldo Toranz, 75, saw Torres reach inside a window of his home at 3312 W. Walnut St. and throw in lit fireworks, a police news release states. Torres then entered through an unlocked sliding door and threw more lit fireworks
No one was injured, but the fireworks caused about $100 damage, according to the news release.
Police say Torres had two of Toranz's credit cards in his possession when he was arrested and taken to a juvenile detention center.
