TAMPA - Two men used a pry bar to steal 122 quarters and a nickel from a vending machine this morning, Hillsborough County deputies say.
They did an estimated $1,100 damage to the machine.
Deputies arrested the men about 1 a.m. at Hillsborough Avenue and Pistol Range Road.
Anthony David Carvajal, 37, of Tampa and Steven Mitch Rosenwinkel, 38, of Bradenton were charged with criminal mischief, tampering with a vending machine and trespassing on a construction site.
At 12:51 a.m., they went to 5941 Memorial Highway and were taped by a surveillance camera-recorder prying open a vending machine, taking quarters and leaving, a criminal arrest affidavit states.
They later were caught trespassing in a fenced area near construction equipment, according to the affidavit. Carvajal's vehicle was parked behind a building, with headlights off, and the men told deputies they were looking for a phone number for employment.
Rosenwinkel and Carvajal were in Orient Road Jail this morning, with bail set at $4,250.
